Light of the World Multicutural Festival 2016

Light of the World is a community event that is organised by local not-for-profit group, Children of Destiny. In its 5th year, this event has continued to rise in popularity as a safe alternative to children and families roaming the streets over Halloween. Gathered together on the Mabel Park High School oval, each year thousands come to be a part of the community spectacular.

Last year in excess of 6000 people turned out for a gala of side-show rides, dynamic local creative performances as well as a diverse range of food truck options. This year, with Halloween on a Saturday, Light of the World grows into a 2 day festival that will go from Friday night, all day Saturday and Saturday night where more than 10,000 are expected to attend.

Children of Destiny holds a variety after-school programs each week in Logan including dance, drum lines, singing and is transforming the lives of children from all backgrounds one person at a time. Children of Destiny operates on the donations of local supporters, grants and voluntary donations. To support Children of Destiny, you can give online


The Light of the World Festival is organised by Children of Destiny, a local not-for-profit in Logan, Queensland.

Festival Details

Mabel Park State High School will be transformed on October 30 & 31 (Halloween weekend) as a safe family alternative.
Rides open from 1pm – 9pm Sunday, then 4pm – 9pm Monday.


Parking is located across Paradise road at the Salvation Army Community Life Centre, along Meakin Road, and the signed car park at Mabel Park State School.
Parking is also available at Meakin Park off Paradise Road.
